Two kinds of tournaments action are available at DoingPoker. In the tradition of the world’s greatest tournaments, DoingPoker offers full Mulit-Table action. For faster tournaments try the mini tournaments where there’s one table and one shot to place.
• Multi-Table Tournaments (MTT)
• Sit and Go Tournaments (S&G)
Tournament Rules
- 1. All tournaments will be accessed through the tournament lobby.
- 2. A “Tournament” is a contest in which all player start with an equal amount of chips. Blinds/Antes are raised consistently throughout the tournament and play will continue until one player has achieved winning all the chips in play. Prizes are awarded based on order of finish.
- 3. Tournaments will begin at the time designated in the tournament details.
- 4. Players will not be aloud to choose or change their seats after being randomly assigned.
- 5. The button moves in a clockwise manner so that one player will not receive the button two hands in a row. Occasionally a player will receive the button when getting moved to a new table or become the button without having played in the blinds due to a player being eliminated. This occurs commonly due to technical software issues.
- 6. Players who earn their registration through a satellite are not permitted to un-register. If you cannot participate in the tourney to which they have won an entry, they will forfeit their entry and may not have the tournament buy-in credited to their poker account.
- 7. If two players are eliminated during the same hand, the player who starts with the largest chips stack will earn the higher position, if they have an identical chip stacks, both players tie for the same rank.
- 8. Players are obligated to take their blinds and/or pay their antes.
- 9. If there is a split pot, not equally divisible by the number of player in the hand the extra chip or chips will be awarded to the player or players closest to the left of the “button”.
- 10. The tournament is played until one player accumulates all the chips in play. When a player loses all their chips they are declared out of the tournament and finish in the order they were eliminated.
- 11. If the tournament is a satellite event, the tournament will end when all players have qualified for the prize regardless of the chip counts.
- 12. DoingPoker reserves the right to cancel or reschedule tournaments at any time, without notice.
- 13. Tournament registration must meet minimum requirements for that event or the tournament will be cancelled. If tournament has been cancelled over insufficient entries, all buy-ins and fee (points) will be returned to players’ account.
- 14. Poker is a game of integrity and etiquette. Each player should play with the same intensity against all players. Soft playing and chip dumping may result in penalties including seizure of funds from the offender’s account or may have to forfeit of any prizes and/or termination of ones account.
- 15. There will be a 5 minute break every hour in a standard Multi-Table Tournaments (MTT). There will be no break on Single-Table Tournaments (S&G).
- 16. DoingPoker will not get involved or assist in deal making during a tournament, tournaments will continue until there is one winner. In the case of a satellite event and the payoffs will be exactly according to the prize payout structure.
- 17. Internet connections issues and disconnections are a reality of online poker; DoingPoker doesn’t assume responsibilities for any problems unrelated to the performance of the game server.
- 18. Tournament Cancellation
- Rule 1.0 – If a tournament is cancelled before it starts: Players will be refunded their buy-in plus the fee (points). If a player won a seat into the tournament through a satellite, they will be refunded the standard buy-in for that tournament. Guarantees and play money points added to the prize pool will not be included.
- Rule 1.1 – If a tournament had not yet reached the money: All remaining players will be refunded their tournament buy-in and tournament fee. If a player earned their way to the tournament with a satellite win, they will be refunded the standard buy-in for the tournament. The remaining prize pool will be divided equally. Guarantees and money added to the prize pool will not be included.
- Rule 1.2 – If a tournament has reached the money: All remaining players are guaranteed the next prize pool amount and in addition, players will divide the remaining prize pool by chip count. Guarantees and money added to the prize pool will not be included.
- Rule 1.3 – In a rebuy tournament: The number of rebuys and add-ons a player has made does not affect the payoffs. If the players have not yet reached the money, players will be referring to rule 1.1. If players have reached the money, players will refer to rule 1.2.
- Rule 1.4 – If a tournament awards a non-monetary prize: DoingPoker will assign a monetary value to the prize, if all remaining players have each won the first place prize at time of cancellation, they will be able to keep the prizes. If not, all remaining players will divide 50% of the remaining prize pool equally and the remaining 50% of prize pool money will be divided by chip count.
